My dog can be aggressive and may bite. Will you groom him/her?

It depends on how aggressive your dog is and whether or not he/she will accept a muzzle.  Every dog is different and we will do our best to get the job done but we will not put ourselves or your pet at risk. Please see “Things to tell your groomer” resource document on our website.

What if my dog has fleas?

We will bath your dog using our specialty flea shampoo. This is left on your dog for 10 minutes and will kill any adult fleas on your dog. This service is to protect other dogs in the salon as well. We will charge you extra for this service due to the cost of our products and the extra time and care taken. Please see “Help, my dog has fleas” resource document on our website for more information.

Will you groom my dog if he/she is sedated?

No.  If your dog requires sedation, we firmly believe your dog should be groomed by your veterinarian.

How soon can I have my puppy groomed?

We suggest you wait until all vaccinations have been given which is about 4 months old.  Until then, daily brushing or combing your puppy at home, as well as handling their feet, ears and face is recommended to get them accustomed to the grooming process.

Do you groom severely matted dogs?

Yes, however, aside from being quite expensive, extensive de-matting can be extremely painful.  We feel the best solution is to clip the coat completely and start again with regular brushing at home between grooms.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, please call ahead especially for upcoming holidays.

Can I stay for the groom?

Sorry no.  Dogs are easily distracted especially when their owners are present and grooming your dog requires their full attention. Please see “A day at the grooming salon” on our website for additional information.

Do you groom other pets?

We will groom rabbits, guinea pigs and some cats. We can help with matted rabbits and their nails. We can trim pocket pets nails. We will groom a well behaved cat using only brushing, clipping, and scissoring techniques. We do not bath cats.

Does my dog need to be current on his/her vaccinations to be groomed?

Yes, because we have daycare dogs as well in the salon, we require a copy of your dog’s vaccination records. This precaution is to protect your pets.

Does your facility perform de-skunking baths?

Yes, we do provide de-skunking baths for an extra charge due to the cost of our products and the extra time it takes.

How long does a groom take?

This depends on what is being done but generally, a typical groom (not a bath only) will take approximately 3 hours depending on your dog’s coat length/condition, behavior and size.  It is always better to take a little longer than to rush through a groom! Please see “A Day at the grooming salon” for additional information on our website.

Are you open weekends?

We are open Saturdays by appointment only, please call ahead to inquire.

What if I have to cancel my appointment?

It is best to give us as much notice as possible that way your spot can be filled to avoid a cancellation fee.

Can I bring some treats with my dog?

Absolutely – it is encouraged so we can reward your dog for their good behavior! We also have homemade nutritional treats available for purchase at our salon.

What form of payment do you accept?

Cash, cheque, e-transfer and credit card (debit to come shortly)
